Practice Mode terms

Last updated 8 September 2026.

These terms apply when you use the Practice Mode app or website. Practice Mode is a Drivegenics product. By creating an account, you agree to use the service lawfully, safely and in accordance with these terms.

Driving and safety

Practice Mode is not an official DVSA product, professional driving instruction, a test-readiness assessment, insurance advice or a substitute for an approved driving instructor. The learner and supervising driver are responsible for licences, age and experience requirements, insurance, vehicle condition, L or D plates, roadworthiness and every other legal duty.

Never interact with a phone while driving or actively supervising. Set up the drive before moving, put the phone away and use it again only when safely parked. Learners may only drive on a motorway with an approved driving instructor in a dual-control car.

Accounts and households

You must provide accurate information, keep your password and invite codes secure, and use only your own account. A household connects one learner with one or more supervisors. Current household members can see its completed drive reviews. Do not write unlawful, abusive or unnecessarily sensitive information in notes.

Free and full versions

The free version includes 10 early-stage Coach Cards, unlimited drive logging and the private debrief. Either the learner or a supervisor can buy the full household version as a non-consumable in-app purchase, subject to the price shown by Apple. It unlocks all 85 Coach Cards, practice plans and additional progress tools for the connected household. It is not a subscription and does not renew.

Apple processes payment. Purchases can be restored from a member of the connected household using the Apple Account that bought them. Apple's terms and refund process apply. An unlock belongs to one Practice Mode household and may not be transferred to evade purchase limits.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service reliable but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free access. Offline drives remain on the device until they can synchronise. Features may be corrected, improved or withdrawn where reasonably necessary for safety, security, law or service operation. Important changes to these terms will be published here.

Ending use

A learner can leave a household and any user can delete their account inside the app. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to prevent misuse, protect people or systems, or comply with law. Shared completed reviews may remain available to other household members as explained in the privacy policy.

Responsibility

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, Practice Mode is a planning and record-keeping aid and is not responsible for driving decisions, collisions, penalties, test results or losses caused by unsafe or unlawful use.
